"Meta Tags: Are Yours Up-to-Date?"
Every 2 to 3 years, I overhaul Vector Central's website. Currently, I'm tweaking a template that I created and designed - and although I've already spent about 40 hours on it :) I hope to finalize it and have our new pages uploaded next week. So you won't see a change yet - but be sure to return next week to view VectorCentral.com
When redesigning, there are always new parameters and technology to consider, especially if you have moved to CSS in the past few years as we did.
If you need to update your Meta Tags in your html code, following is an example that could benefit your website. This is the format we use at Vector Central. There are a few alterations that you might need to make for your website. (For instance if you use French only on your website, then you would use that instead of English - en.)

"Fixing a Nervous-Looking Monitor"

If you use Windows, sometimes upon changing monitors, or new Windows installation, your monitor may appear nervous or have a slight flicker to your eyes. The following procedure will allow you to adjust what is needed to make your monitor look its optimum. Note that this is mostly for adjustments using analogue connection to either older CRT monitors or digital LCD monitors that are not connected via a digital interface. Also, most digital LCD monitors will have an auto-adjust feature that will also allow sizing of screen to be easy. |
Under your computer's Start menu, go to the control panel. In the control panel click on the "Display" icon. A screen will appear titled "Display Properties." Click on the tab marked "Settings" and in the lower right-hand corner click on "Advanced."
Under this, you will find all the settings for your video card. Either under the monitor tab or the adapter tab (depending on your monitor card) you will find the "screen's refresh rate" - this will be described in numbers such as 60 hertz or 72 hertz, 75 hertz, etc. Adjusting this to a higher rate can sometimes eliminate the flicker and nervous screen when looking at your monitor. Sometimes Windows, by default, does not always choose the best setting for your monitor. (Please note, if there is a check box that says "Hide modes that this monitor can not display," keep that box checked.)
Lower settings, such as 60 hertz can sometimes cause a nervous appearance in the monitor and can be corrected by using a faster refresh rate. Simply choose one of the higher numbers and click "Apply." A screen will come up, "Do you like the way it looks" and choose 'yes' or 'no' -- Click "Apply" and then click "Okay."
You may find, after doing this, that you might have to slightly change the actual size of your monitor settings, either bringing in or out the sides or top and bottom to fill your screen with your window view.
A flickering monitor can cause severe eye strain during your work day. We hope this Byte of Info can help to optimize your computer environment.

Here's Why You Should Consider Outsourcing?

If you've ever tried creating an e-book yourself you will know that there is a lot more work involved than simply writing the e-book. For example, before you can even begin writing your e-book you have to research the subject thoroughly.
In addition to that you then have to plan the writing, chapters etc, following which you can begin the actual task of writing.
This is where many people discover the pain involved in writing an e-book! As you stare at the blank page before you, you may start to wonder why you ever started such a project. There is no doubt that there is a great deal of work involved.
Once you have labored for days or weeks or sometimes months or years your e-book is finally finished ... or is it?
Now you have to begin laying out your e-book in the correct format, following which you must turn your Word document into a PDF. Next you have to create cover graphics for your e-book and if you are not adept at using photoshop or similar software your graphics will look extremely amateurish which won't help the sale of your e-book's at all.
However you ploughed through the learning curve, which takes even more time and finally your e-book and cover graphics are ready. Hooray you are finished! ... Actually you are far from finished.
Now that days and weeks or months have passed and you have finished the actual creating, writing and layout of your e-book, the real work now begins.
It's no good having written an e-book unless you have a website to sell it from. If you are adept at building websites then you may have things covered at this point, however if you have no idea whatsoever about how to build a website then you're in for yet another steep learning curve.
Once again, trying to build a website that looks professional is something that the amateur will find very trying indeed. Here again, a great deal of work is involved even if you do know how to build a website. And once again you are in many hours of work and toil.
There are thousands of people, and you may be one of them, that feel that they would like to be involved in a certain niche or subject and would like to make money from that niche by creating an e-book. It is not surprising however that most people just find it too daunting to even begin such a project.
There is in fact a way that you can have your own e-book out there and selling for you on the Internet without having to go through the pain and frustration and without having to actually create an e-book or create a website yourself. In fact there are also thousands of people who do just that and the method that they use is called ... outsourcing!
It is possible to have a complete project like this all done for you without you having to lift a finger. In fact all you really have to do is decide what niche you would like your e-book subject to be written about and you can then let someone else worry about the work involved in writing the book, turning it into a PDF document, creating graphics and designing and building your website for you.
Of course, as mentioned previously, a project like this does involve a great deal of work and therefore you can expect to pay the various outsourcers that you use a considerable amount of money. In addition you will have to pull the project together yourself if you use various different outsourcers to carry out the project for you.
Even this work can be avoided however with just a little research on the Internet. What you need to look for is a source where the company involved can pull the entire project together for you, so that you are not having to deal with separate sources for the different parts of the project.
Creating and selling e-books can be a very lucrative pastime and many people have even found that they can replace their full-time income whilst working from home. So if you have an idea for an e-book, then don't be put off by the work involved because ... you no longer have to do it yourself!
