How do I start a blog. You need some way to keep in touch with your customers, if you have an established online business, or even if you are just starting out online.

In order to start a blog you need to have some content to blog about. Start by concentrating on writing posts for subjects in your particular niche, if you run an online business.

Here's Some Ideas for Posts.
Your customers will want to know information about your business and niche, so use that to get ideas on what to write.

Some ideas that are always popular are lists of tips, for example "69 tips on [your niche]". How to posts are also good to include. If you can create a video explaining how to do something, then these are also very popular and will liven up your posts.

Start out with a post on your subject for beginners. Then by going deeper and deeper into detail, you can create more posts from the original post, for the more intermediate people in your niche. By using this method you should be able to get several posts from the same article.

Write about the pro's and cons of the next hot topic, or do a product review on a product.

Because you want to build a good relationship with your readers, the main idea in doing this is to give helpful and relevant information to them.

Software Required
To work out what software you need, you can go to several different websites. WordPress and blogger, are the two main blogging sites. Blogger is a free version of software for blogging owned by Google and doesn't need a hosting account as it's hosted by google. Any software developer can contribute to the wordpress development as it's open source code, and also for the average user, creating a blog is free.

How Do I Start a Blog with Blogger?
If you go to blogger.com and create a free account there and then you can start a blog using blogger. You'll receive some login details and then you just need to follow the onscreen instruction to start yourself off.

Because blogger is owned by Google it's very versatile and that means that any posts you make will be ranked very quickly by Google. You still have loads of flexibility on the look and feel of your blog, even though it's a free account.

Googles hosts blogs on blogspot that are created using blogger. If you called your blog "mynewblog", it would appear on blogspot with the URL mynewblog.blogspot.com.

How Do I Start a Blog with WordPress?
When you start a blog using WordPress there are two options available. Firstly, you can use WordPress.com to host your blog, or you can host the blog on your own domain.

Hosting Your Blog on WordPress.com
When you host your blog on WordPress.com it's almost the same as using blogger. Just go ahead and create your account and then you're ready to start creating your blog. You really need to have your blog on your own domain name if you are starting an online business, which is a good spot to explain the second use of WordPress.

WordPress Using Your Own Domain
If you host a WordPress blog on your own domain, first of all you need to create the blog, or ask your Webmaster to create it for you. Then you need to add themes which are what create the look and feel of your site. If you want to stand out from the crowd then you can get your own theme created by a designer, of which there are hundreds on the Internet.

WordPress also uses what are known as plug-ins. Plug-ins are little scripts that WordPress uses to do anything you can think of in a blog. There's a huge range of plug-ins available designed to do things ranging from search engine optimisation (SEO) to backing up your database, keeping track of comments, and a myriad of other tasks that require automation and save you time.

Do you want to start using article marketing to get traffic to your business, but are not sure how to do it correctly? If so then you need to know the answer to the question, how do you submit articles properly so you can get the maximum exposure for your articles?

There are some important things that you need to do in order to properly submit articles to different directories. Knowing the most important things to do will show you how easy it really is to submit any of your articles to any directory you want to.

In order to properly get your articles submitted here are the most important things you need to do.

1. Write high quality articles - When you are going to be submitting articles to directories the most important thing you can do is to write high quality articles. If your articles are poorly written then you will not get any traffic from them no matter how many directories you submit to.

2. Research and choose article directories - There are many different article directories available these days and you have to take time to research them. Look at as many of them as you can and check them out thoroughly.

So you can be sure you are only choosing the best ones to submit articles to be sure to compare them to other directories. Each directory is similar, but they are a little unique, so research is critical if you want to choose only the best ones.

It is a good idea to choose 4 to 7 directories to submit your articles to. Only when you are more experienced at article marketing should you try and add any more directories into your marketing toolbox.

3. Free registration - You will have to take time to complete the free registration for each directory that you want to submit to. This is important for setting up your author account. Without doing this step you will not be able to submit any articles to any directories.

4. Article submission process - Once you have an account with the directory you can start the submission process right away. Each directory will have different steps that you can follow to submit your articles.

It starts with the title of your article and then the body of the article. Then the article description which you can also copy and paste; just be sure that you write a description that is related to your article because this will be what visitors see first. It is an easy step by step process.

5. Keep track of directories and articles submitted - This is important to do so you don't submit an article to the same directory twice. If you do then this could be considered spamming and will get you banned from using that directory.

Now that you know the answer to the question how do you submit articles; all that is left is for you to get started. Don't delay because the sooner you get started the sooner you will see traffic from your article marketing efforts.
